Thanks to generous support from the SASY Neighborhood Association's grant program we're proud to offer a SawStop table saw with safety brake technology to minimize safety hazards associated with table saws.

Users are responsible for brake cartridge and blade replacement cost ($140) if they set off the safety when in use. We've been using the industrial version of this saw for 13 years with minimal issues, the main thing is to only cut clean, dry, wood with the saw. The safety system can be bypassed if needed to cut foil faced foams/etc but it needs to be thoroughly cleaned out prior to switching back over to normal operation.

Do not cut:
* Wet lumber
* Foil containing/faced materials
* Material containing cables, hardware, screws, nails, etc. Staples will not set off the safety
* Carbon painted materials (chalkboard paint, etc)
* Metallic painted materials
* Metals of any type, you cannot run an abrasive blade in this saw

If you have a single board/panel/etc to cut and you can transport it to Sector67 we may be able to help you cut material in the shop rather than renting out the table saw (use e-mail to contact the tool library for coordination). If you have a lot of material to cut up on-site then borrowing the table saw makes a lot more sense.

We can provide roller stands to use as infeed/outfeed support as needed.
